About Tom McCormick
As an Evangelist, I have nothing new to say, in fact
it’s all quite old. I preach Jesus, and Him Crucified.
Tom has a background in many types of performance
spanning more than twenty-five years. He has performed approximately fifty
roles in different projects. Tom started his acting career at Southmont High
School where he was awarded the Outstanding Drama Club member and
outstanding speech team member during his senior year. He went on to study
speech and theatre first, at Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky,
and then graduating from Ball State University with a bachelor degree with a
major in Theatre and a minor in speech communication. For a time, Tom
considered public school education as a career, and as a result, many of the
elective classes that Tom took at Ball State were education classes. While
in Kentucky Tom was hired as an actor in “The Legend of Daniel Boone”, an
Outdoor Drama in Harrodsburg where he worked for two summers before
returning to Indiana to finish school. During Tom’s second year at “The
Legend of Daniel Boone”, his love of theatre and illusion began to mesh as
he started to work behind the scenes by taking on the additional
responsibilities of producing the special effects for the show. In the
beginning at Ball State, Tom found himself spending as much time onstage
acting as he did backstage performing the wizardry of special effects. It
was during this period that Tom was awarded an undergraduate research grant
for work that he was doing in special effects from BSU. His college career
culminated in receiving a education grant from the college of humanities to
teach an undergraduate course on Special Effects for the Stage in the
theatre department. For his efforts at Ball State University, Tom was
awarded an Outstanding Achievement Award by the Theatre Department.
Tom began doing magic in 1973, and is a member of The
International Brotherhood of Magicians where he has lead workshops for other
magicians at area conventions. He is also a member of the Fellowship of
Christian Magicians where he has lead workshops for several years at their
International Conference.
